Changho Yi, MD

Dr. Changho Yi is a pain physician at Puget Sound Pain Clinic, seeing patients in Lakewood and Puyallup, Washington. He completed his Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of Washington, building on an extensive clinical background in family medicine, orthopedic surgery, spine care, and minimally invasive procedures.

Dr. Yi completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Earlier in his career, he earned his medical degree from Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine in South Korea and completed orthopedic surgery residency training at Wonju Severance Christian Hospital, where he also served as Chief Resident. He later completed fellowship training in arthroscopy and endoscopic surgery.

Prior to continuing his medical career in the United States, Dr. Yi practiced as an orthopedic surgeon in South Korea, with extensive experience in arthroscopic surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, joint procedures, and interventional spine treatments. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery in South Korea and is ECFMG certified, with medical licensure in Washington and Virginia.
Dr. Yi has also been actively involved in the field of pain medicine through research, presentations, and professional organizations. His memberships include the American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Spine Intervention Society, Pacific Spine and Pain Society, and American Society of Pain and Neuroscience.
His background in both surgery and pain medicine gives Dr. Yi a broad perspective on treating chronic pain. He emphasizes proactive pain management, patient education, and minimally invasive interventions when appropriate, with the goal of helping patients reduce pain, improve function, and achieve a better quality of life.
