Fortunato Placencia, PA-C
Fortunato’s path into medicine began with three years of volunteer service with the Cashmere Fire Department, where he served as both a wildland/structural firefighter and an EMT. This experience sparked his passion for patient care and led him to pursue a career in healthcare.
He went on to work as a medical scribe in the Yakima emergency department for two years and continued his hands-on clinical experience as an EMT in Wenatchee for three years. His background also includes work in the food safety industry as a laboratory analyst for IEH Laboratories, where he tested various food samples for pathogens.
Fortunato chose to specialize in pain management because of the opportunity to make an immediate, measurable impact on a patient’s quality of life. He believes that pain affects every aspect of daily function, and being able to diagnose, treat, and help patients regain comfort and independence is profoundly rewarding.
Outside of work, Fortunato enjoys daily walks with his wife and their dog, Manny the Dachshund. They love exploring different parks around Washington, going to the movies, and cooking together.
