He obtained his medical degree at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed an internship in general surgery at the University of Colorado before going back to Galveston to complete an Anesthesia residency and then a pain management fellowship. Part of his training included treating patients at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Juan is board certified in both Anesthesia and Pain Management. He has cared for patients during surgeries and now enjoys focusing more on managing pain for the long term. From the most up to date technologies to research articles, Dr. Juan is constantly looking to use everything he can to get you better. He has seen the impact that reducing pain can have on patients and strives to achieve this whenever possible. Part of his training involved utilizing the newest spinal cord stimulation technology to reduce pain in many situations where other options like surgery or medications do not help.
He happens to be married to an Anesthesiologist as well. They met during the first year of medical school. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, skiing, taking their German Shepherd for walks in the forest, and video games. The natural beauty of this area always appealed to him and he is proud to call the Pacific Northwest his home.
