Regenerative Medicine
What is Regenerative Medicine?
Regenerative medicine is an exciting new medical technology that uses the body’s mechanics to promote wellness and healing. Regenerative medicine procedures are done in an outpatient setting, allowing the patient to return home the same day.
At Sound Pain Alliance clinics, platelet rich plasma & biologic therapy injections are the focus of the regenerative medicine program, and the benefits of these treatments are numerous.
Regenerative therapy is meant to alleviate pain and promote healing without a surgical procedure. These treatments are also meant to help the body heal, so pain is not simply masked, but symptoms improve. Additionally, cells from your body are used, reducing the risk of infection.

These treatments usually take less than an hour and do not have the risks of anesthesia or require a hospital stay like a surgery. Patients usually begin to experience improvement within 4 to 6 weeks, and most will continue to see improvement for up to six months.
PRP is a safe, non-surgical procedure that stimulates healing and treats acute and chronic pain. Although recovery times can vary, patients generally begin to see improvement in pain and mobility within 4 to 6 weeks. Improvement will continue for up to 12 months. The cost of a PRP treatment varies based on your specific treatment needs.
Undifferentiated cells that have the ability to replace dying cells and regenerate damaged tissue. A high concentration of these cells are obtained from the patient’s own bone marrow, or fat tissues (adipose), or from a purified amniotic tissue. Once obtained, the cells are isolated with a specialized centrifuge and then injected into the painful area on the same day using special imaging to make sure the cells are placed exactly where they are needed.
Regenerative therapy works for the for conditions including:
- Back Pain
- Arthritis
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Tendonitis
- Achilles tendon injury
- ACL injuries
- Rotator cuff tears
